Routers giving me some problems, or at least they
were
So if you were to buy two routers. Neither
saying that they support bridging. One, a name brand, the other generic. One
saying nothing about bridging anywhere in documentation, the other having an
unofficial way of bridging. One fugly as hell, the other sleek, pretty, quite
nice. Which do you think would be sitting on my desk, bridging the ISU network
properly? If you guessed the name brand, unofficially supporting bridging,
sleek router, you would be wrong. After much frustration with my Netgear router
trying to get it to bridge the ISU network, it’s the “Hawking Technology” router
that is working great, sitting on my desk bridging both wirelessly and wired
without a hitch. Meanwhile I consider what I might wan to do with this Netgear.
I might see about setting it up in the den upstairs, but that means tinkering
some more and making sure the damn thing isn’t NetReged to me. We shall
see.
