Well VEISHEA has come and gone and it was a massive success of a comeback. First off, all of this last week there has been fantastic food on campus. For $3 you get a VEISHEA button, and lunch on campus all week. The food is decent, and you can’t beat the price.
VEISHEA of course really takes off on Saturday, and this year was no disappointment. I didn’t take part in the large number of shows there was this year but I still had a blast. The Parade this year was fantastic. I took a ton of pictures which you can enjoy in the photo gallery and the POTWs (there will be 3 this week).
After the parade I walked around campus for a while checking out the different booths and tents and food vendors, eventually getting a cheeseburger from the Ag Business club, and homemade ice cream from the Dairy Science Club (I think).

The rest of the afternoon was pretty laid back, I stopped by Harwood for a while and eventually made my way home. one thing I didn’t miss however was a rubber duck race down College Creek. I didn’t have and entry in it however I decided I was going to root for #15, a classic yellow rubber ducky. Amazingly 15 almost won, only to end up on the rocks feet away from the finish line. A bright purple #81 ended up winning.
My last VEISHEA event this year was going to this year’s Stars Over Veishea production, My Fair Lady, with Rachel. It was really well done, and pretty funny, almost entirely through the acting of Col. Pickering (for those who know the play).
That ended my VEISHEA for 2006, and I can’t wait for VEISHEA 2007.
