So if you’ve been following the news you’ll know that the primary season for this coming presidential election is in an uproar. Florida and Michigan, ignoring both the National Republican and Democratic parties, have moved their primaries up in order to make their states more prominent in the schedule. The changes have resulted in the national parties revoking Florida and Michigan’s delegates to the national conventions and, more importantly to me, the dates of other primaries and caucuses have changed to keep “first in nation” statuses.
The Iowa Democratic Party just announced that they’re moving the caucuses to January 3rd. This makes me angry. I’m not going to be able to participate now. I’m going to be in the UAE. You can’t participate in a caucus by absentee ballot. I wouldn’t want it any other way but it kind of screws me over.
Thanks a lot Florida and Michigan. Especially Florida, haven’t you messed up elections enough recently?
