I stuck up some pictures of my apartment. They are just of the living room, kitchen and my room. No one wants to see the bathroom or laundry room anyways so I figured this would be good enough. I’ve got a ton of posters on my wall and I’m feeling lazy so I’m not going to explain what they all are but if you’re curious your more than welcome to ask.
I also moved things around on the picutre pages and moved less recent pictures into an Old Pictures folder. If there was something here before and you don’t see it, look there.

As anyone that visits here with any frequency (the few of you that remain) you will notice that I haven’t been making a lot of changes, improvements or even content additions lately. Most of all that’s because the school year is just starting off and I’m getting started with that but there is another reason… I’ve been working on another website.
I’m relatively new to web development, tedger.com being the first real website that I built from the ground up using pure html and css code. Well today I’m able to say I’ve got two websites under my belt. Although it requires some finishing touches work is pretty much complete on the Harwood House Website. The whole website is designed from the ground up to be created not by a webmaster but by the members of the house itself. I’m pretty happy with it and I’m looking forward to seeing how Harwoodians end up using it :D .

Seems the power adapter for my external hard drive has died. Came home from a weekend at…. home (ie: went to Dubuque, now back in Ames), and plugged it in and nothing happened. After taking a look inside I realized that there was no power indicator light on the power adapter. The kicker is that I can’t find the power adapter. It looks like I’m going to need a whole new enclosure, which… really sucks.

Well folks, I’m sorry to say but an era has come to an end. I have officially left the proud ranks of the cell phone holdouts. We are a small and slowly dying demographic, people without mobile phones; now there is one less. Seconds before I posted this I placed an order for a Motorola RAZR V3, along with a Motorola HS850 Bluetooth Headset.

Of course I also had to sign a service contract in blood saying that my immortal soul is now owned by the company or I have to give them money back for the cheap phone price I got. After rebates the phone will be free which is really cool because from the Cingular store it costs $199. I got a modest plan because I don’t think I’ll be attached to my phone by the ear like some people are, but I see myself using it.
For a geek like myself the cool phone and the bluetooth headsets were a must. Wireless is the future and the future is now…. and by now I mean 2 years ago (adjusted technology time: 2 millennia). Give me a break I’m just getting into this cell phone thing. The headset I will be able to use with my Powerbook as a headphone and microphone which is awesome. I’m really looking forward to it all, even if before the rebates my bank account isn’t.
Cellular holdouts stand proud, there isn’t that many people left amongst you, for that you are stronger people than I.
PS: if the Cingular people get a hold of this Christopher Acker at you Jordan Creek Mall location deserves a raise, he’s really awesome.
Update: added pictures of the phone and headset.

If you didn’t know Apple announced today that that they will be using Intel processors. This is a big move and tons of people have weighed in, so in my little corner of the web, I’m going to also.

Over the years Apple has been known to do some crazy things. For better or for worse (Sometimes both, I generally thing for the better) Apple makes choices that don’t always make sense.

I decided to fix up the emoticons or smilies if you prefer. I got some better images and added a few that I didn’t have before. Here’s what I’ve got: ‘(A)’ => (A) => ‘Angel.png’, ‘:-@’ => :-@ => ‘Angry.png’, ‘>:D’ => >:D => ‘BaringTeeth.png’, ‘:S’ => :S => ‘Confused.png’, “;(” => ;( => ‘crying.gif’, ‘(6)’ => (6) => ‘Devil.png’, ‘:|’ => :| => ‘Disappointed.png’, ‘:#’ => :# => ‘DontTellAnyone.png’, ‘:$’ => :$ => ‘embarrassed.png’, ‘8)’ => 8) => ‘Eye-Rolling.gif’, ‘:!’ => :! => ‘FootinMouth.png’, ‘:D’ => :D => ‘Grin.png’, ‘:)’ => :) => ‘Smile.png’, ‘B)’ => B) => ‘Hot.png’, ‘:/’ => :/ => ‘IDontKnow.png’, ‘:p’ => :p => ‘StickingOutTongue.png’, ‘:(’ => :( => ‘Sad.png’, ‘;)’ => ;) => ‘Wink.gif’,

Really this post is for my reference later, but still :D .

So not that anyone other than me cares, but April is now the 3rd month in a row to surpass previous months. Starting in January with Zero hits (yes… I know I didn’t even have the website up then). February with 10822 hits, an average of 450 a day. March (with a boost from KQ activity) having 24058 hits an average of 776 a day. Lastly April with 25287 hits and counting, an average of 936 hits a day. Really, that’s pretty cool if you ask me. It makes me think people actually visit here every so often; really I’m probably fooling myself and they’re mosly just spam bots.

(By the way none of these hits include me going to my own website, really, I swear… seriously they don’t)

If you’re curious I have automatic site statistics.

Bit of a follow up on my last post. But it looks like Mac OS 10.4 aka Tiger will be out Friday April 29th. w00t!

April 11, 2005

So if you’re into computers even if you not into Macs, you might know about the upcoming release of Tiger (Mac OS 10.4). And if you know anything about the release of Tiger, it’s riddled with rumors all across the internet. Well The Ames Macintosh Users Group go an e-mail today. The first paragraph reads:

“On Monday April, 18, 2005, representatives from Apple Computer, Inc. will be on campus doing an overview and answering questions about the pending latest operating system, Tiger, due too be release this spring.”

All I have to say is, it’s about time.

Well Tedger.com is now open for business. I had a couple goals for my website when I started out: 1) Simple, yet visually pleasing interface 2) Nice easy to use picture pages 3) New Bloging system 4) Register domain name 5) Easily updated main page

I’ve now met all of those goals. I wrote the pages from the ground up when it came to layout/interface, and the picture pages. For the Main page and Blog i’m using Wordpress, and I registered the domain through Active Domains. I’m pretty happy with it all right now, not sure where to take it next but that’s ok :D .
