Quick Update, there is new pictures in the Winter Break album. More details later. FYI Khasab is in Oman.

This week there will be no picture of the week (or probably the next few of break) for two reasons.

a) I’m putting tons of pictures up because I’m on break and in a new place, so just keep checking in the previously linked album.

b) I’m going to rewrite my picture pages over break to do cool things like RSS (maybe) and use SQL. The POTW pages have been problematic because of the way they work, this new system I’m planning will make things easier.

Anyways, there will be plenty of pictures they just wont be in the Picture of the week section.

Despite not taking many pictures today (3 total) I have stuck them all up in a “Random Pictures” album in the folder I created for this break.

I went and got my desperately needed haircut today. It’d been about 6th months since my last one. I like my hair long but not anywhere near as long as it had become. Really I’m just lazy. Anyways, there is a before and after picture up. I’m pouting in the second half because my hair is gone :(. The second picture is just me taking my nap with my dog :).

Last night I arrived safely in the United Arab Emirates. Flights were pretty good, I slept through almost all of it. Unfortunately because of all of this sleep I wasn’t able to sleep at all when I arrived. I made it most of the day without a nap then I crashed about 1 and slept till 5. Not the best idea when you’re trying to adjust but it’s now almost 11 so I think I’ve made up for it… at least a little.

My brother showed me around a little today and I meant to take some pictures but didn’t really get to it. I’m going to start putting pictures up here though so keep checking back.

In other news I activated (with the help of Cantu, thanks again Kevin!) International roaming on my phone. It isn’t cheap, but also not terrible ($5/month + $.20/min to the states $.10/min local). It makes it so I can call local numbers though (like family cell phones) and make a couple important calls back home so I think it’s worth it. The alternative plan is $2.49/min in the UAE and no monthly charge, but that’s only worth it if you are in a low rate area (like Europe, UAE unfortunately is at the top of the price scale).

Because I was too busy to take a picture of anything I wanted to this week or even draw a stick figure banging it’s head on a desk for finals I’ve stuck up a picture from the previously mentioned sendoff party. Aaron got put in his place Friday night, I don’t know if there was any one other thing that kept people laughing so hard (well besides alcohol).

Instead of working on a paper like I should be I’m putting more new and fun content up at Tedger.com.

Last friday due to several graduations this semester and the absence several people next semester for graduations we had a sendoff party of sorts here at our apartment. It turned out to be a huge success and as far as I know everyone had a great time. I’ve stuck pictures up, all pictures provided by Matt Clancy thus his absence in all of them.

Unless you’re someone that reads the Tedger.com RSS feed you’ll notice a bit of a change when your browser hit Tedger.com today, the absence of the Home Page. Inspired by the Other website I administer I have removed the standalone main page. The bulk of the content I stick up here is either in the blog page or my picture pages and almost nothing goes to the main page. My original idea for the main page would be slightly less frequent more important/notable posts. Unfortunately they became far too infrequent and often made it look like I hadn’t posted in months, which has only been the case once :p.

All of this has lead me to decide to remove the main page entirely and move the Blog page to the forefront. In theory the main page was great, in practice it sucked.

So back in October I had my little pant problem. Really it was funny so I posted about it, not anything major but funny. Today my RSS feed of tedger.com blog comments showed that I had a new comment on the website. Turns out that it was someone going through the same search for these fantastic Levis 569’s and on the third page for the Google Search for “Levis 569 corduroys” is my blog post. It’s pretty amazing that my blog post is that high, but the fact that Google/the Internet has helped this person find someone else with the same issue.

I’ve already e-mailed the person and told them that I found the pants on JCPenney.com. The Google and the Internet are so cool.

So this is the PoTW from thanksgiving break. Late partially because well… I was on break, part because I had to get the file from my cousin and part because… well I’m lazy. Better late than never though.

Funny little bit of fiction I came across today. I imagine it was a little like this for my computers. Only they saw their shared aluminum cases and found that they had a shared hatred of windows and have always been a good pair.
